    Logo & Serial Number Question

This is probably a weird and picky question, but here goes... I noticed that some of the TAG headstocks have a cream / off-white version of the "A" logo. This looks great with the right colors and woods (and is actually what I ordered). On those guitars, however, the printing on the back of the headstock (S/N, Buzz Feiten logo, etc.) looks different. It seems like it is painted on (in matching cream paint). The guitars with a black or dark "A" logo seem to have the S/N and other info on the back of the headstock etched or engraved into the wood.

Are they both etched and one is just filled in with cream paint? Is there any risk of rubbing/wear with the painted-on info? I tried to attach a photo to show the cream version. Sorry for the random question, but I just haven't had a chance to hold one in my hands yet to compare.

the front logos are a decal, that's how we can do many different colors.

the serial number is laser etched into the finish of darker woods, or laser burned into the wood on lighter maple. neither can be rubbed off.

I’m glad to hear that in either case, lasers are involved :-) Thanks for the reply.
