Knocking sound of trem returning to body?
Hi guys, just got a cool 2014 Classic and loving it. I wondered, does anyone have any tips of how to lessen the slight knock when using the trem and it returns to the body? Is there something very thin and soft that could go under the trem without causing pitch change?
Thanks
Kurt

if you're ok with it lifting on bends, try loosening the 2 claw screws quarter turn at a time. that will also give you a softer arm feel.

Thanks Tom, I actually prefer it flat to the body, so I can do double stop bends without it going out of tune, but so that it's loose enough that I can wiggle chords, if that makes sense.
Thanks,
Kurt

there's the rub, you can't get it as soft as you might like and still get no movement on a double stop bend. i have one of my guitars set up that way and i still enjoy using the trem. just go slow on how much you soften the spring tension till you get a nice balance of feel and stability.
