Volume knob feels "stiff"
I have a (new for me) 2015 Classic, love it. I have recently been experimenting with the technique of using the 5th finger to work the volume knob in order to soften the picking attack so that it fades in like a steel guitar. I have noticed that the Volume knob feels a bit difficult to turn, but it is something I only noticed with this technique. The knob on my 2020 Cobra is not loose, but it is easier to turn. Is this a thing and I should just get used to it, or does the knob need some kind of maintenance? In comparison, the Tone knob feels smoother/looser. Thanks!

they vary some with how much grease they put in them. also the more it's used the easier it gets to turn.
you can spray with dioxit d5, it's a very good cleaner, and also lubricates so it will loosen up most pots.

Dioxit it is; thanks Tom!
edit: that worked a treat!
Ah, the joys of a 5 year old NOS guitar....
